Audition info.

We hold auditions 3 times a year for our main stage shows!

Auditions happen approximately as follows:

Late June for our Summer Show

Late September for Winter Production

Late January for our Spring Musical(s)

What can you expect at one of our auditions?

*NCT auditions actors in groups of 10

*The audition process takes 45 min to 1 hour.

*Actors will be asked to read for mutiple roles from the script.

*At times actors may be asked to prepare a short monologue. Each show is different.

For our Spring Musical Production:

*Actors should prepare to sing a song from a Broadway Musical a capella, and may be ask to attend an additional dancer call back.

Important notes on casting:

We have large numbers of children audition for every show. Our Main Stage shows are meant to provide our actors with the most professional acting experience. Due to the typical large turn out, not everyone can be cast.

Our Studio Theatre Productions, however, are the perfect opportunity for those not cast to get a chance to perform.  We encourage all who auditon to be open to being a part of all Studio Productions that correspond to our Main Stage schedule.

We also wish to share with you that casting a show is a grueling process, and much thought goes into placing the most suitable actors for various roles.  Ensemble roles are equally as important, and as equally involved in our productions. Every actor cast is placed where they will fit each production best, and in a way that will showcase their talents best. Not every part is right for every actor, but learning the necessary skills will prepare them for when there is a perfect fit! We, at NCT focus on the importance of the educational value of being in our productions. Our goal is always to teach our young actors the craft of acting.
