Beauty & Beast Camp - 2014

Beauty and the Beast Camp 

was terrific!

 Camp is held at The Pennfield School in Portsmouth, RI.

 

A typical day includes:

9 - 9:30 A.M. - A physical & vocal warm-up

9:30 - 11:30 - Actors rotate working with the show's director, acting coach, choreographer, and music director.

11:30-12:00 P.M.  - Lunch

12:00 - 12:15 - Re-group & play theatre game

12:15 - 2:15 - Actors rotate working with the show's director, acting coach, choreographer, and music director.

2:15 - 2:30 - Snack Break

2:30 - 3:45 P.M. - Actors rotate working with the show's director, acting coach, choreographer, and music director.

3:45- 4 P.M. - Re-group to end the day.

Camp Faculty include:

James Patric Moran

James Patric has extensive credits in theatre TV and film, and we are thrilled to have him join the Upstage family. In theatre he has appeared on Broadway, and in National and International tours. His roles include Fred Casely in the Tony Award winning revival of Chicago, Riff in West Side Story, Bobby in A Chorus Line, and Lank in Crazy for You. His TV and film credits include Ghost Voyage, Charmed, Mad-TV, Guiding Light, Jack and Jill, The Grasslands, Scent of a Woman, and Malcolm X.

His dance career has led him to dance with, and opposite, some of the dancing world's premiere dance talents including Chita Rivera, Bebe Neuwirth, Anne Reinking, Charlotte D'Amboise, Caroline O'Connor, Ben Vereen, and Usher. James Patric recently choreographed LACHSA'S award winning production of Chicago; his other choreography credits include Hair, Rent, Hairspray, and numerous music videos. He has also appeared dancing on such shows as Nikki, Dancing With the Stars, and America's Got Talent.

 



Timothy Quinlan

Member of Actors Equity Association, is originally from Northampton, MA; and is a graduate of Wagner College, Staten Island, NY. He has clocked in over 1,000 performances of Jersey Boys, Other performing credits include, national tours of The Who's Tommy, Grease, and Gypsy, as well as the Broadway cast of Footloose. He was most recently seen as Jerry in The Full Monty at The Welk Theater in Escondido. Timmy is a founding member of Too Much Mustard Productions. 1, 2, 3...

  

Ginger Merritt

Ginger Merritt has been on the faculty of Broadway Training Center for 3 years wherein she has taught Musical Theatre Dance and Tap and has choreographed Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  For the past 3 summers she has taught and choreographed at Long Lake Camp for the Arts wherein she choreographed such shows as Chicago, West Side Story, Footloose, Frog and Toad, and Free to Be You and Me.  Ginger has perfomed all over the world in such shows as 42nd St. and Fiddler on the Roof wherein she has worked with Broadway choreographers, Randy Skinner and Sammy Dallas Bayes.  She holds a B.A. in Theatre/Dance from Wagner College.  She is proud to be a part of the very talented staff at Broadway Training Center.
