Christopher Silva Memorial Scholarship Fund

Chris Silvia was our beloved Technical Director from 2013 – 2016. Chris created beautiful sets for our productions, he carefully crafted our costumes, and he worked countless hours on every Newport Children’s Theatre production. His contributions, however, were not limited to our own productions. Chris also designed our shows' playbills and advertisements, and he devoted additional time serving as a dedicated trustee on our Board. The most wonderful gift he gave us was passing on his knowledge and enthusiasm through teaching numerous children set design and building skills. His energy was boundless and contagious, and he will remain forever in our hearts. This fund was created to commemorate his life and to continue his legacy of love for theatre.

The Christopher Silvia Memorial Scholarship Fund will help NCT provide additional educational programs aimed at students interested in all aspects of technical theatre. In addition, as the fund grows, the Scholarship Fund will help financially support a chosen high school senior on an annual basis who wishes to pursue theatre arts in college.

We Love you Chris!

You will be with your NCT Family always!

Support our Musical Musicians

At NCT, our mission is to enrich the lives of young people by offering opportunities in the performing arts that engender self-confidence, inspire both individual expression and ensemble teamwork, encouraging community outreach thought quality theatrical productions for families. Our Spring Musicals make up the largest portion of our annual budget. The costly endeavor to produce our large-scale musical productions is a challenge, but worth it. It has become expected to see nothing less than the most top-notch set design, costumes, in a beautiful theatre venue with the most talented creative staff from Broadway and our live orchestra of 14-16 local professional musicians. The amount of pride and accommplishment our young actors feel having been a part of this extremely professional experience is evident on that final curtain call every year and a memory they hold dear for the rest of their lives.
